I love old buildings and the history they hold within their walls.
I was brought up in Yorkshire and always lived in ‘old’ houses furnished with antiques of all kinds. As a child, I would frequent antique shops and attend auctions with my parents – my fascination and appreciation of all things old began at an early age!
After running a successful business restoring antique porcelain for over 25 years, I decided on a career change and began to renovate old houses. I have had 15 years experience of project management and gained practical experience by working hands on alongside builders and craftspeople of all skills. During this time I also learnt the art of millinery, designing and creating beautiful hats for special occasions.
My ethos is to conserve, enhance and retain the charm and character of historic house interiors whilst sensitively accommodating modern day necessities essential for comfortable contemporary living.
I guide on all aspects associated with interiors:
- Restoration & conservation of furniture, artworks, clocks & decorative items, soft furnishings & textiles
- Upholstery & window treatments
- Use and sourcing of building and decorating materials
- Advice on furniture, decorative items, fittings & furniture suited to the period
- Design & decorating
I offer a bespoke personal service suited to your requirements and will take on the smallest job. I am creative, meticulous, have a good eye for colour and design and a sound knowledge of antiques. I am reliable, approachable, organized and financially aware, therefore will work thriftily to suit all budgets. Where and whenever possible I prefer to renovate, restore and recycle rather than replace with new.
I am based in Marlborough and will travel within reason.
Bring your old home to life and celebrate its quirkiness
